The new APU-R has been introduced, and specifically designed, to meet requests from systems integrators for a rack mounted protection system they can use in major whole house projects. The new unit enables installers to protect Amina speakers centrally on a standard 19”, 1U High rack platform rather than each speaker requiring an individual protection unit locally.
For many high-end installs Amina’s Plaster-In Invisible Loudspeakers are the ideal solution. However, until now they lacked a suitable rack mounted protection unit. This 8 channel system is totally passive and provides the flexibility to run configurations from 8 loudspeakers, all in different rooms, all the way up to a 7 speaker install for a 7.1 Surround Theatre, and any combination in between.

Each channel has its own selectable jumper to enable it to handle the whole Amina AIWX range i.e. AIWX1- 20 watts, AIWX3 – 40 Watts, AIWX5-80 Watts or any mix of these within the one unit. As well as being styled to blend in with other elite equipment, internally the APU-R provides a high pass filter to ensure that the Amina speaker is not fed with excessive base frequency. In addition, it also features thermal fusing so that the loudspeakers are not overdriven accidentally. As would be expected for the professional, Neutrik Speakon Plugs, located on the rear panel, are used for Input and Output connections. The new unit also meets all the required criteria to enjoy Aminas 10 year AIWX loudspeaker warranty.
